Configuring CAD

Roles and Permissions

The permission applicable to the CAD module is described in the following table.

Permission…	Allows users to...
Drawing	View and upload CAD drawings.

Refer to Managing Roles for further information.

System Settings

System Options (accessed by navigating to Tools > System Options and then clicking the System Options button) contains the settings for the CAD module.

The following settings affect the CAD module:

Create New Room Usage During CAD Synchronise (in the CAD group) – whether to allow the system to automatically generate new room usage when retrieving data from the drawing that is checked during synchronisation. Enter ‘False’ to disable the function
Default Drawing Layout (in the CAD group) – the default drawing layout used when opening CAD drawings. If a layout is not specified or if the layout does not exist 'Model Space' will be used

Reference Data

The CAD Attribute Manager applies to the CAD module (accessed by navigating to Functions > CAD > CAD Attribute Manager).

You must specify drawing attributes prior to performing the first CAD Mapping or CAD Synchronisation.
